The Challenge of Teaching

Have you been to a private school verses a public school- what is the one thing you notice the most when walking down the hall as all the children are changing class rooms, or heading to lunch?

Have you been to a private school verses a public school- what is the one thing you notice the most when walking down the hall as all the children are changing class rooms, or heading to lunch?

Unfortunately that does not mean a great education or a fair education, it just means that where ever you are living you are allowed to attend a school and have some instruction. Most schools are great; teachers try to provide the best quality education they can, using all the tools available to them. However many times students still go without.

Many have debated if having a dress code really does make a difference for the education of kids. Some of the reasons people think that having a dress code is a good idea is because kids will focused on what they are learning instead of how they look in what they are wearing and what their peers are thinking. Also parents argue that if kids have to wear uniforms they are going to dress more appropriately and modest instead of being a distraction. And the last reason is that instead of taking time out of their studies shopping for the latest fashion, having to work to pay for the latest fashion and or worrying about what to wear, the whole clothing worry is gone.

Another good reason why dress code rules and uniforms are a good idea is that kids are more likely to wear modest clothing and that is good for the faculty and the student body itself. With immodest clothing it can lead to inappropriate behavior from the, student body and or the faculty.

Now I love fashion, the beautiful skirts- vintage is back and I'm loving that. Skinny jeans, you go girl, and get your bling on, who doesn't love a little sparkle? However having all these things does cost a bucket load of money and if you are even close to going to college you know that isn't exactly cheap so what's a person to do?

So in conclusion you can see that having a dress code can make a big difference in the way that your children act and are treated- in an environment either focused on education or socializing. In the end it is your choice.
