How are you doing? After working with volunteer groups and volunteer teaching, one barrier that seems to interfere with the success of these organizations, foster homes, schools, institutes and many businesses today, is the need for supplies, equipment, tools and requisite materials. On the other side of that barrier, many companies, families and businesses want to give a lot away. I can definitely relate when moving. But the problem is that the need is often never met by a direct donation or at all.
For example, a couple who has all grown-up children is moving to a smaller location and would like to give away the unused children’s clothing, some air condition units, and several unused/unopened Holiday gifts. Often movers do not have the time to go to a classified or read through the posts of Craigslist to see who really needs their items. Instead, many couples choose to A) Donate to Goodwill or a Retail Source, or B) Dispose of the Items. Then for example, on the needy side of the barrier, a foster home may be in need of A/C units, and some children clothing, and the adults running the home must result to purchasing through Goodwill- money that could be spent for education for the children in need.
When I was doing volunteer teaching work in New Orleans, LA and in San Francisco, CA, I noticed that the teachers at both schools complained that a percentage of what they earned went into the materials used in their classroom. In other words, the laminated posters, the computers, papers, extra-calculators were actually paid for by the teacher instead of the school system.
With Craigslist and many classified systems becoming more and more indirect, the needs of so many are just piled up and are treated as useless blogs and are often polluted by spam.
I have come up with a better solution called Needcast. Needcast contains a page for your location, for you employees to post their needs. In order to cut spam out, posting is password-protected and is regulated by your location. Donators can look and respond to needs posted and in turn deliver or drop off a needed item with a form from the website. In return the person at your location who needed the item can sign the form and mail it back to the donator for their receipt. This eliminates the barrier, and connects the need to the donation.

If you are interested in using in having a Needcast page, please reply back through email at: needcastnet@gmail with the preferred mailing address for donations and your approval.
I will send you your screen name and password and will create a page for you. The reason for directly sending your screen name and password is that you are not posting it to a form to begin with- so it will not be stored into a database for spammers to draw out. If an employee does give the password and screen name to another source, you can always email me to change it.
Also until December 1st, 2012 the page will be free. The cost per year to have your page is: $3.00 a year. You can post unlimitedly and the site is designed for computers, wide-screen monitors, tablets and mobile devices.
I look forward to breaking the “need barrier” for your location.

I give an annual "fart talk" to my classes. I tell students about the experiment with an onion. The teacher slices an onion, and one-by-one students seated in their desks raise their hands when the smell reaches them. Then, I let them know that the way we smell is by having molecules from a source travel through the atmosphere to reach our nose. Then I ask them to think about what happens when we smell someone else's rudeness. Yes, it is not pleasant, but it does turn the culprits into the enemy, and student rudeness does decrease.

One problem is respect. My students (5th grade) dont respect me. They talk, wisper, make faces, talk behind my back and way more. It REALLY gets anoying because I would think at thier age they would know how to act but i guess not. I tell them how I feel, but its still the same. I really need advive! HELP!!!

They still laugh about farting and God forbid I use the word breast or smoked or high or any other commonly used word that might imply something dirty. Snickers galore in my classroom. I would appreciate any help with this problem as well. :-)

One problem I faced with my pupils is the fact that they easily get distracted or bored when games are not made part of the learning process. I think the problems I face most in my class room are: -having the kids not pay attention to me cause I am a young teacher (14 years old), and some of them are bigger and older then me.
-Speaking there native language. All the time I hear them whispering and talking in Tibetan, while I am speaking to them, (they don't speak Chinese as often because I understand them)
-Eating in class. They love to bring there snacks (chips, candy, popcorn, you name it)into class.
-Playing. I teach a young class with the kids ranging from eight to eleven. The love to show off there new toys and such
-Telling on each other. All the kids want to be my pet. So they tell on each other. It drives me NUTZ!!
-Finally, fighting. The boys break out in fist fights a bunch. Telling me that one kid stole from another kid
I love teaching, don't get me wrong, but I have a few problems. If you have any ideas how to make them stop, that would be great! Thanks again =]
