What are some ways to verify that a current lesson plan is covering all the standards and that students are comprehending what is being taught? I am struggling with writing effective lesson plans.

i am planning daywise lesson plan for kindergarten.. i want to know it is theme based activities so can the planned academic portion be covered in the given time period..
