Make 2010/11 The Year of TEAMWORK at your School with ‘Stand Up for Peace One Day’

Herald in the new school year with Peace Day! Stand Up for Peace One Day is a lesson taken from our USA Peace Education Resource and provides the ideal opportunity to get the whole school or community involved in a positive celebration for 21 September, Peace Day. These Resources are free and available in the six official languages of the United Nations; they can be accessed by completing a short registration process.

We invite you and your students/colleagues/friends to participate in Peace Day by making a commitment and taking a photo or video of this commitment. This could involve painting banners, spelling peace words or images through students making the shapes by standing in formation. Over the years we have been sent some incredible images from all over the world and we are hoping 2010 will be the best year yet!

New Anti-bully program and website.

Hi Everyone,

Bullying in schools is without doubt one of the biggest issues right now which is why i developed a new anti bully program to help address this issue.

My programs demo video can be checked out at the web address below which explains in detail what it is and how it can help your children. Additionally there is a performance clip from the children at Seneca Central Public School showing the program in action.

Also on the website are many various free educational resources for primary school education.

Feel free to use any of these resources with your children.

The anti bully animated book can be viewed by clicking on the bully in the bottom right hand corner of the screen once you get to the website. This 16 page book gives children tips and advice on how to deal with bullying issues in school and is a very useful resource.

You Might As Well Get To Know The Security Staff — You Are One Of Them

I know that some days I feel more like a security guard than a teacher. It seems that in between class I’m pulling kids apart who are trying to beat each other up, and in class I’m dealing more with behavior than Beowulf. But there are some common sense strategies you can employ that I promise you will get a better reaction from Administration and Security, so that the students you send to the office stay there, and you can focus on your class.
